I’m an R&D Leader in the Packaging and Specialty Plastics R&D group at The Dow Chemical Company.

Professional Endeavors

As an manager in the Dow Packaging R&D group, I am leading a team that develops innovative and sustainable polyolefin products. This spans many product types, market segments, and plastic applications, from food packaging to rigid parts. We use the fundamentals of materials science and engineering to continually improve the performance and sustainability of these products over the entire life cycle, including facilitating the circular plastics economy.

Recent awards include the Plastics News Rising Starts under 35.

Education

I earned my PhD in Materials Science and Engineering at Penn State University, and my dissertation was on computational studies of carbon dioxide separation membranes. I attended Mercyhurst University for undergrad, where I worked on a variety of chemistry and computational research projects.

Research Community

I am currently an active member of the Society of Plastics Engineers, where I currently serve on the board of directors for the Polymer Modifiers and Additives Division (PMAD). Previously, I was active in American Chemical Society, American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and Materials Research Society, where I served a term as the PSU-chapter MRS president.
